Kimiya Shokoohi is a senior journalist with experience working in media across four continents.
She was a part of the core digital team that launched the Olympic Channel in 2016, and the field production team that reported from West Africa for the BBC World Service World 2020 expansion project in 2018. In 2019, she incorporated KIMIYASHO Productions Ltd. to help local stories in her hometown of Greater Vancouver Regional District go global.
Ms. Shokoohi's international work dates back to the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic Games where she was hired to cover the youth angle ahead of the first Youth Olympic Games. She was in her second year of journalism school and had recently had her first by-line published in the Vancouver Sun.
Ms. Shokoohi was born in Tehran, Iran, and grew up in British Columbia. She is fluent in English, proficient in French, and speaks colloquial Farsi (Persian).
